Michiganders, today (December 1st) is the big day! Recreational cannabis is for sale at a small number of locations across the state. Only 3 retail locations are approved and ready to open currently, however more are being approved on a regular basis. (There are currently 77 applications in pre-approval status too!)
UPDATE: Today is a day to truly celebrate after the long and hard fight which led to passing proposition 1; this day is for everyone!
Cannabis is legal for adult-use in Michigan but not every existing (medical) dispensary is approved to sell to the recreational market. Below is a list of recreational dispensaries in Michigan that are ready to serve you, some are coming soon.
Now the question remains… will there be any inventory?
While it is an exciting time for the ability to purchase cannabis recreationally, the reality of the situation is less thrilling.
Below is a list of every city in Michigan that has approved the sale of recreational marijuana.
Yes, the state of Michigan has only 18 cities that have approved recreational cannabis dispensaries. Compared to 1,411 cities that have opt-ed out, roughly 1.2% have welcomed recreational cannabis businesses in their geography.
There is still work to be done for widespread adoption...
Now that Michigan has offically enacted the recreational rules our team is gearing up for all the cannabis events coming up this December and leading into the new year.

Are you going to be at any of the Provisioning center openings this weekend in Ann Arbor? Our team will be out capturing photos and videos of the special day, send us a message so we can meet up!
Do you want to see a cannabis dispensary in your area? Contact the representative(s) for your local city/municipality to learn about any cannabis ballot initiatives that may be in the works (or how to start one).
The cannabis community is always one-click away too. You may find value in joining a local advocacy group to hear about the status of campaigns directly from the people who help create and pass proposition 1.
